Role Overview
As a QAE-1, you will be responsible for validating feature releases, writing test scenarios, and reporting issues effectively. You will work closely with developers, designers, and product managers to ensure that everything we ship is reliable, user-friendly, and aligned with the product intent. This is an excellent opportunity to grow in a structured QA function while being close to the product and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand product features and user flows to design effective test cases
- Execute manual functional, UI, regression, and exploratory tests
- Write clear and reproducible bug reports using tools like Jira
- Work closely with developers to verify bug fixes and ensure release quality
- Collaborate with PMs to validate requirements and edge cases
- Participate in release cycles, smoke tests, and UAT with stakeholders
- Contribute to QA documentation and continuously improve test coverage
Requirements
Must-Have:
- 2+ years of experience in manual testing or QA roles
- Strong understanding of software testing fundamentals and SDLC/STLC
- Good analytical and communication skills
- Attention to detail and user-oriented thinking
- Familiarity with tools like Jira, TestRail, or Excel for test case management
- Ability to understand and test web-based applications (ideally React-based UIs)
Good to Have:
- Exposure to REST API testing using Postman
- Familiarity with basic database queries and browser dev tools
- Interest in learning automation frameworks over time
- Understanding of bug life cycle and test plan documentation
